Global Citizenship isn’t it’s own curriculum strand in Ohio, but it’s an essential part of what we should be doing: teaching children to consider their role in this world, on this planet. I often introduce the year with a study of our district’s character education values; I also roll much of this content into our Government and Citizenship studies; I often integrate it into our studies of immigration as we investigate the ways Ohio’s peoples have changed. I include it as we consider the interrelatedness of ecosystems and energy and economics. There are endless essential ways to incorporate these big ideas into the daily thinking and learning that you do. I’ll use this page to include helpful resources that may not be easily incorporated elsewhere.
